STRONG/SEVERE STORMS IN WEST ALABAMA… The storm near Coffeeville has ramped up to severe levels, meaning damaging straight line winds and large hail will be possible in Coffeeville, Toddtown, Zimco, and Salitpa shortly. The storm near Thomasville, Fulton, Sandflat, and Scyrene is strong, but it’s currently under severe limits. Gusty winds likely in those areas over the next few minutes in addition to the very heavy rain/lightning.
These storms will continue to slide southward over the next few hours. Don’t be surprised if more severe thunderstorm warnings are needed. Tornado warnings are NOT expected as the tornado risk today is very low.
