ISOLATED SEVERE STORMS AROUND… You know it’s summer around here when you see a radar image like the one above. If it’s not raining where you are this afternoon, it’s probably mostly sunny. Numerous seabreeze-induced thunderstorms continue to pop up and fade away. At the moment, there are three counties in Alabama with severe thunderstorm warnings in effect. Central Mobile County near Semmes, eastern Dale County, and much of Henry County near Haleburg and Abbeville.

NEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING TILL 3:30PM… A new severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for much of central Mobile County until 3:30PM. This new warning is due to the same storm that prompted the earlier warning near Semmes. Tillmans Corner, the campus of The University of South Alabama, Mobile Regional Airport, Crichton, Dawes, and Seven Hills are included in this new warning.

Most of the storms today are under severe limits. If a storm happens to ramp up to strong/severe status near you, expect brief periods of small hail and gusty winds. For most, heavy rain and lightning are the main concerns.

I’ll continue to monitor radar trends and bring you the latest here in the RZWeather app. Enjoy your evening!
