TWO MAIN AREAS OF SHOWERS & STORMS… Multiple showers and thunderstorms are happening across south Alabama and northwest Florida early on this Thursday afternoon. One area of light to moderate rain has been ongoing for the last 2-3 hours over much of Monroe, Clarke, and Conecuh counties. This mass of rain and embedded storms is not moving much. We note rain and storms are starting now in places like Atmore, Huxford, Robinsonville, Poarch, McCollough, and Stockton. This is depicted in the radar image below.

STORMS FIRING NEAR BEACHES… Unfortunately for beachgoers, it’s a cloudy day at the Alabama and northwest Florida beaches. Numerous storms are popping up near Pensacola, Avalon, Gulf Breeze, Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville.

FORECAST THIS AFTERNOON… Storms will likely continue to pop up across south Alabama and northwest Florida over the next few hours. Have the rain gear close by! I’ll be watching radar trends carefully. Radar updates will be posted as needed here in the RZWeather app.
