STORMS POPPING UP ACROSS COASTAL AREAS… Several showers and thunderstorms are popping up across coastal areas of northwest Florida and Baldwin County early on this Thursday afternoon. At the moment, heavy rain is falling near Pensacola, Ensley, Holt, Molino, and Elberta. These storms are moving west.
I expect more showers and thunderstorms to pop up across the entire area over the next few hours. You can see on the attached satellite/radar composite that there is a field of cumulus clouds in place across our area, which are the seeds for cumulonimbus cloud development that can lead to thunderstorms. Be ready for downpours!
