NICE BEACH DAY AHEAD… Much of the day should be dry, hot, and sunny across south Alabama and northwest Florida. There will be a few isolated thunderstorms around, especially across inland counties. The Pensacola Beach Air Show is today, featuring our local Blue Angels! The show kicks off at Noon with the Blue Angels scheduled to fly at 2PM. If you get a cool photo of the Blues or of your local weather today, be sure to share it with me here in the RedZone Weather app. The Share tab is the middle button on the tab bar. Here are your forecast details…

FEW STORMS AROUND TODAY… Thunderstorms will be isolated across our region today, similar to yesterday. The greatest chance of rain/storms locally will happen across Conecuh, Butler, Monroe, and Clarke counties. Rain chances are much lower (but NOT zero) in coastal counties and at our local beaches. High temperatures across the region will again be in the low-90s with heat index values soaring above 100° in most spots.

TROPICS REMAIN QUIET… The Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, and tropical Atlantic Ocean remain quiet and without any areas that are “tropical hotspots” capable of developing into a tropical storm over the next few days. The remnants of Tropical Storm Beryl continue to move northeast over the open waters of the North Atlantic. The National Hurricane Center says there’s a low-end (20%) chance of redevelopment, but that’s basically a moot point, as the system won’t affect land again. The remnants of Hurricane Chris are long gone, with the area of low pressure approaching Iceland.

Let me know if you have any weather-related questions. Have a great Saturday!
