WIDESPREAD STRONG STORMS CONTINUE… Just about everyone across south Alabama and northwest Florida has seen rain today. Numerous showers and thunderstorms continue to develop and move slowly to the northeast. We note a few stronger thunderstorms are happening in east Mississippi, where multiple severe thunderstorm warnings continue for portions of Greene (MS) and Perry (MS) counties.
I expect scattered thunderstorms to continue to pop up across our region over the next 4-5 hours before the atmosphere stabilizes somewhat this evening. There will be lingering storms into the overnight hours and into Wednesday morning as we remain in a moist, unstable airmass. Widespread severe weather is not expected across our region, however.
