NUMEROUS STORMS LIKELY TODAY… Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will pop up throughout the day across south Alabama and northwest Florida. The odds of any given location across our region seeing rain today is around 70-80%. We’re looking at pop-up, pulse-type thundertorms that will be capable of producing heavy rain, lots of lightning (just like yesterday and last evening), and gusty winds. The overall severe weather risk remains low and the tornado risk is near zero. Skies will be mostly cloudy after lunch, meaning high temperatures will likely be peaking around 88-89 in most locations. Have the rain gear handy throughout the day!
NUISANCE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT TIMES… The National Weather Service in Mobile notes that our area could potentially see some nuisance-type flooding due to all of the rain around our area today. Ponding on roadways and street flooding near small creeks/streams will be possible.
UPDATES IN APP… Because widespread severe weather is not expected, per our usual, I’ll have plenty of updates throughout the day over on Twitter (@rzweather) and here in the RedZone Weather app.
See all the details/maps in your Tuesday #rzw forecast video that will be posted shortly here in the RZWeather app… Enjoy the day!
