STORMS NEAR WHATLEY & SARDINE… Coming up on 5:15PM and we have numerous thunderstorms in progress across south Alabama and northwest Florida. These storms are NOT severe (like the storms on the NW side of the Birmingham, AL metro area). The strongest storms are happening along the U.S. Highway 84 corridor near Whatley and Gosport in Clarke County. These storms are producing very heavy rain and a lot of lightning. Storms are also developing just east of Poarch and Atmore near Sardine and Pineview in Escambia (AL) County. Several storms have also popped up over the last few moments in Monroe County near Uriah, Megargal, and Excel.

For those of us that haven’t had rain/storms just yet, be ready as scattered downpours will continue to develop over the next few hours.
