SHOWERS & STORMS TODAY; RAIN MOVES OUT FRIDAY… We remain stuck in an unsettled, muggy airmass on this Thursday that will be conducive for showers today and thunderstorms later this evening. The good news is that severe weather parameters remain low and near zero across much of the region. Despite the rain and storms over the next 24 hours, another bit of good news is that rainfall today likely won’t have a significant impact on local river/creek water levels. We FINALLY get some nicer, drier weather starting Friday afternoon! Let’s talk details…

RAIN TODAY BEFORE STORMS TONIGHT… Scattered showers will continue to stream in from the south today bringing intermittent rain to the area through the evening hours. Temperatures won’t move much today as most spots continue to be well above our climatological norms for this time of year. Most spots will be in the upper-60s with the exception of Clarke and Washington counties that may be a bit cooler overall. A round of heavier rain and thunderstorms is expected this evening. Again, severe weather parameters remain very low, so at this point we’re not expecting severe thunderstorms. You definitely could hear thunder and see lightning in some of the stronger storms that happen this evening into the overnight hours.

FRIDAY – FINALLY BETTER WEATHER… We have been stuck in this nasty, wet weather pattern for quite some time. We finally get a “pattern shift” of sorts on Friday when cool, dry, stable air will move in from the north. Rain should be gone by noon on Friday from the entirety of our local area. Temperatures will progressively decrease throughout the day on Friday. We start at 8AM around 62° but end the day around 51° by 6PM.

NICE, SEASONAL WEEKEND… Sunny skies are expected for Saturday and for Sunday. High temperatures will be in the 60s with morning lows in the 40s. No rain is expected and cloud cover will be quite limited as high pressure takes control of our weather pattern.

I’ve got all the details for you in your Thursday #rzw forecast video… Enjoy the day!
