MUCH COOLER TODAY; CLOUDS MOVING OUT… Significantly cooler air is filtering into south Alabama and northwest Florida today after the passage of a cold front last night. Temperatures will struggle to hit the upper-50s this afternoon with most spots peaking around 56° or 57°. We’re looking ahead to the weekend when our next significant rain chance will happen. The good news is that severe weather parameters remain low. Let’s talk details…
COLD MORNINGS AHEAD… We transition from an above normal temperature pattern to below normal today. Temperatures on Thursday morning will be quite chilly, near the freezing mark in most spots. By Friday morning, some spots across the interior areas of south Alabama will be in the upper-20s for a few hours. Temperatures will moderate somewhat for the weekend as rain chances go up.
RAIN LIKELY SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY… An area of low pressure will approach the region by Saturday, increasing the presence of Gulf moisture in the atmosphere. Showers will likely be numerous, particularly late in the day on Saturday. For now, the odds of severe weather happening remain low although there could be a few thunderstorms involved.
