SEVERE LINE OF STORMS MOVING EAST… The strongest storms in Alabama at the moment are clearly in Clarke and Washington counties in west Alabama, where the main line of thunderstorms we are tracking today continues to produce bowing segments. These segments are where we could have damaging straight line winds shortly, which is why a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect. If you’re in Thomasville, Fulton, Springfield, Chilton, Grove Hill, Scyrene, Toddtown, Jackson, or Leroy, the line of storms is about to move into your area.

SMALL STORMS OUT AHEAD OF MAIN LINE… We’re also tracking a few small showers and storms in Butler, Covington, Okaloosa, and Santa Rosa counties. These small showers are producing heavy rain and some lightning, but are currently not severe. The main severe weather risk today is associated with the main line of storms currently moving through west Alabama.

TORNADO WATCH TILL 5PM… The tornado watch continues for southwest Alabama and northwest Florida until 5PM. The severe weather risk will end completely once the main line of storms passes through your location.

ALL CLEAR… We can give an “all clear” at this point to all locations in Choctaw County as the line of storms is now east of the entirety of that county. In addition, the severe weather risk is now over for Millry in west Alabama as the line of storms is east of there.
