CLEARING SKIES, COLD DAY, FREEZING TEMPS OVERNIGHT… Clouds will continue to move out on this Tuesday giving way to sunshine for most areas across south Alabama and northwest Florida by late morning. Temperatures will be quite chilly throughout the day, peaking in the low- to mid-50s. Keep those jackets handy today. Some spots actually had a few snow flurries mixing in with the rain overnight. There weren’t any major issues because of the flurries. It was more of a curiosity than anything else.

FREEZE WARNING OVERNIGHT… Temperatures will plunge into the 30s late this evening ahead of the thermometers dipping below the freezing mark (32°) by 4AM. Some spots across inland areas of south Alabama could hit the mid-20s around 6AM on Wednesday. NWS Mobile has a Freeze Warning issued for all areas except the immediate beaches.

SUNNY FOR WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY… Plenty of sunshine is upcoming for both Wednesday and Thursday. High temperatures will peak in the 50s on Wednesday but we rapidly recover into the 60s by Thursday. 70s will be on the board for afternoon highs by Friday.

ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM FOR THE WEEKEND… Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected to move through our area on Sunday. There remains quite a bit of model inconsistencies at this point, but we note that some models are hinting at the potential for a few strong to severe storms across portions of the Deep South on Sunday. Certainly not what we need after a disastrous tornado weekend! Nothing is set in stone at this point and it remains to be seen whether this threat can materialize. I’ll keep monitoring the latest data and bring you the latest information over the next few days.

See all the details, including a look at the next 7 days, in your Tuesday #rzw forecast video… Have a great day!
