NICE MONDAY & TUESDAY BEFORE MORE SEVERE STORMS ON THURSDAY… It’s April in the Deep South and our wave train of severe weather events is in full swing. We get a break, however, today and on Tuesday before more storms return to our area on Thursday. See all the details about the Thursday severe weather risk below. Sunshine is expected all day on this Monday. High temperatures will peak around 75° by 3PM, meaning much of the day will be near the 70 degree mark. Absolutely splendid weather for today and Tuesday! We’ve also got a nice weekend on tap after the storms on Thursday. Let’s talk details…

NO WEATHER ISSUES THROUGH WEDNESDAY… Other than morning areas of patchy dense fog, no significant weather issues are expected through Wednesday. Plenty of sunshine is expected today, tomorrow, and on Wednesday with clouds increasing late Wednesday evening. High temperatures will be in the mid-70s today. Highs rise into the low-80s on Tuesday and Wednesday morning lows in the upper-40s.

SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE THURSDAY AFTERNOON & EVENING… Rain chances will steadily rise throughout the day on Thursday as a line of strong to severe thunderstorms approaches from our west. The core of the severe weather risk will happen in the evening hours of Thursday. This is concerning as this is typically when we have the most atmospheric instability in play for storms to work with. Tornadoes, damaging straight line winds, large hail, and heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding will be possible. Big takeaway is that we all will need a way to get the warnings again Thursday P.M. I will have more details about this severe weather setup later tonight and over the next few days. Be sure to check back with me for the latest information!

*NOW* IS THE TIME TO GET PREPARED… It is so critical to have a plan of action to know what you would do and where you would go if a tornado warning is issued for your area. Do you have multiple reliable ways to receive urgent weather warnings? Facebook is not a good way to receive warnings, as the platform will often show you posts from days ago but not necessarily posts that are posted immediately. One way for you to get the warnings in south Alabama and northwest Florida is in our free RedZone Weather app. redzoneweather.com/app is the link for the free download. Once you have the app downloaded to your iOS or Android device, be sure to visit the Alerts tab (bottom right corner of the app) and turn ON all of the alerts you want to receive in the Alert Settings area.

COLD FRONT MOVES BY THURSDAY NIGHT… High temperatures drop back into the low-70s on Friday after the passage of the strong cold front set to cause all of the severe weather issues on Thursday. There could be lingering showers into Friday morning, but the severe weather risk should be long gone to the east.

SUNNY, NICE WEEKEND AHEAD… There is good model consistency to suggest that the upcoming weekend will be dry, nice, and SUNNY! Very exciting as it seems like many of the last several weekends have featured active weather. High temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper-70s with an abundance of sunshine.

See all the details in your Monday #rzw forecast video… Have a great day!
