SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH UNTIL 9PM… The Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for many counties across south Alabama valid until 9PM this evening. Damaging wind gusts and large hail will be possible in the storms that fire up this afternoon. We’re already seeing a few blips on the radar, indicating that thunderstorm formation is about to kick off. Escambia (AL), Conecuh, Covington, Butler, Monroe, Clarke, and Washington counties are included in our local area. We note that all of southeast Alabama and much of central Alabama is also included.
