HEAT INDEX COULD TOP 105° AGAIN TODAY; FEW POP-UP STORMS THIS AFTERNOON… Mostly sunny skies are likely on this Saturday. The air temperature (what we see on the outdoor thermometers) will peak around 95-97° but the heat index values (air temperature plus humidity factored in) will be in the 105-110° range this afternoon. There will be a few pop-up thunderstorms scattered across the region this afternoon and this evening. I expect vast majority of us to remain dry, however.

MORE HEAT ON SUNDAY… Another oppressively hot, humid day is set for Sunday. High temperatures will again approach the upper-90s with heat index values likely to be over the 100 degree mark. Sunday will likely be the driest day out of the next 7 days as rain chances are in the 10-20% chance range, even in the afternoon and evening hours.

CONSISTENT PATTERN NEXT WEEK: HOT WITH P.M. STORMS… Monday through Friday of the upcoming week will consistently hot, consistently humid, and consistently feature pop-up thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours each day. High temperatures will be in the mid-90s with morning lows around 72°. This is the “summer norm” around here, and we’ll probably be in this pattern for quite some time. I’ll have radar updates in the RedZone Weather app as needed.

Let me know if you have any weather-related questions. Have a great weekend!
