SHOWERS POSSIBLE AT TIMES TODAY; RAIN & STORMS LIKELY SATURDAY… Isolated areas of sprinkles and rain will be intermittently possible throughout the day on this Thursday. High temperatures will once again be well above our climatological norm for this time of year. Most spots will peak in the mid-70s. That is approximately 15 to 20 degrees above where we should be compared to our long-term climatological average. Clouds will increase in coverage across the region tonight ahead of a dreary, cloudy Friday. Rain will probably hold off for much of the day on Friday ahead of more rain and storms slated to move through on Saturday. There could be a few isolated stronger storms around on Saturday. Much cooler, drier air will move into the region on Sunday ahead of a cold, dry few days early next week. That is your forecast summary, below are the details.

FOGGY START; FEW SHOWERS TODAY… Dense fog is in place across our region this morning. This fog should progressively decrease in density over the next few hours. Isolated showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two will be possible before sunset. Keep the rain gear handy just in case you happen to be under one of the showers or storms! High temperatures will be in the 72-76° range across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Thursday.

CLOUDY & COOLER ON FRIDAY… Overcast skies are expected on Saturday ahead of our significant chance of rain setting up for Saturday. High temperatures will be a bit cooler on Friday, with most spots topping out in the mid- to upper-60s. Showers will be suppressed on Friday for much of the day.

LOW-END RISK OF STORMS ON SATURDAY… The warm, humid air mass in place across the region makes its final stand on Saturday as a warm front lifts north across our region. Numerous showers and thunderstorms are likely throughout the day on Saturday. Rain chances will be at their peak between 9AM and 6PM. Severe weather parameters remain LOW for now. There could be quite a few thunderstorms, but overall the severe weather risk is low. We’ll keep watching trends and bring you updates as needed in the RedZone Weather app.
