SCATTERED SHOWERS & STORMS LIKELY TODAY; COLDER TEMPS BY THURSDAY… Rain is likely at times today across our region, especially across inland areas of south Alabama. Winds will continue to be out of the south, meaning humid, warm, Gulf air will be transported into our region, allowing numerous showers to form. Rain could be heavy at times farther inland today and into tonight. The good news is no severe weather is expected today or tonight. Temperatures will be at their peak today for the week as a cold front is slated to move by on Wednesday. Much cooler temperatures will be in place by Thursday night as precipitation comes to an end. While we will have a cold rain Thursday evening at times, no snow or mixed precipitation is expected.

SHOWERS LIKELY INTO TONIGHT… Keep the rain gear handy if you’re headed out and about this evening as showers will linger into the evening and overnight hours. Temperatures will be in the 60s from 5PM to 11PM and rain chances are slated to remain elevated. High school baseball and other evening activities will probably be rained out in many spots locally, especially across areas farther inland in parts of Clarke, Washington, Choctaw, Monroe, Wilcox, Conecuh, Butler, and Covington counties.

RAIN STICKS AROUND FOR WEDNESDAY… Showers will likely become more isolated on Wednesday but there still will be a 20-30% chance of rain in most spots. Rain chances will rise into the 50-60% chance range in the late evening hours of Wednesday. Temperatures will be steady throughout the day in the 60s. No severe weather issues are expected on Wednesday.

MORE RAIN LIKELY ON THURSDAY… We maintain higher (50-70%) rain chances on Thursday as a cold front continues drifting by our area. Temperatures will be in the 50s all day on Thursday and we likely will fall into the upper-40s after 8PM on Thursday evening. Rain will be possible throughout the day.

DRIER CONDITIONS ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY… Rain is set to come to an end on Thursday in the late evening hours. Friday and Saturday will be much drier and cooler. High temperatures will be in the 50s with morning lows in the mid-30s by Saturday morning.

MORE RAIN SUNDAY INTO MONDAY OF NEXT WEEK… We will need to enjoy the sunshine early this weekend as more rain is set to happen Sunday into Monday. Another area of low pressure will approach our area from the west, paving the way for more showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms late Sunday into Monday. Temperatures look to be seasonal with highs in the 60s and lows in the upper-40s.
