MOSTLY SUNNY TODAY; COOL NIGHT AHEAD… Picture perfect weather is on tap for this Wednesday across south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will peak in the low- to mid-70s across the region! That’s 10 to 15 degrees below where high temperatures have been over the last few days. Mostly sunny skies are expected throughout the day. Clear skies tonight will allow overnight lows to dip into the upper-40s on Thursday morning. Our next considerable rain chance will happen in the latter half of the weekend. Let’s look at your forecast details.

FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND… Rain chances will progressively rise as we get into the weekend. Temperatures will also be on an increasing trend in the days ahead. High temperatures by Saturday will rise into the low- to mid-80s.

MORE UNSETTLED PATTERN NEXT WEEK… Our next round of active weather is slated for Monday into Tuesday of the upcoming week when we could have another round of showers and thunderstorms. It is too early to know if severe weather will be an issue, but that is something we will be watching for in the model trends over the next few days. We’re now in early April, the prime time for our severe weather season. Each system that moves by warrants careful attention. We’ll keep you posted over the next few days in the RedZone Weather app.

CARDS FOR THE ELDERLY… Please don’t forget to take advantage of our new RedZone Weather Cards for the Elderly program. We want to be able to safely send as many encouraging cards as possible to our local senior adults in nursing homes. Be sure to visit the link below for all the information. This is an opportunity for students and adults across our region to write encouraging notes to elderly people currently under lockdown in local nursing homes due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. Here is the link.

SET UP APP ALERTS… Be sure to set up the RedZone Weather app on your smartphone! redzoneweather.com/app is the link where you can download the iOS or Android version of the app. Once you have the app downloaded to your device, be sure to visit the Alerts tab (lower right corner of the app), then tap the large, yellow Alert Settings button to customize the alerts you would like to receive straight from me.

See all the details in your Wednesday #rzw forecast video. Enjoy the day!
