NICE MONDAY; RAIN RETURNS LATE TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY… Sunshine is the word on this Monday ahead of more rain and storms set to return later this week. High temperatures today will be in the mid-80s across south Alabama and northwest Florida. No rain is expected today, but we could have a few showers around as early as tomorrow afternoon and evening. Wednesday is slated to be our active weather day this week with showers and thunderstorms expected to be numerous across the region. Slightly cooler air arrives Wednesday evening, meaning high temperatures on Thursday and Friday will drop into the mid-70s. A few more Monday morning forecast details are below.

TODAY: NICEST DAY OUT OF THE NEXT 7 DAYS… If you’re looking for some nice weather, today is your day! Get out and enjoy it as the next several days will likely feature more in the way of cloud cover and chances of rain. High temperatures across the region today will be in the 83-86 degree range. Full sunshine is expected throughout the day.

FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE P.M. TUESDAY… Tuesday will start the day with passing clouds but we could have a few showers develop in the afternoon and early evening hours. Rain will be most likely to happen across west Alabama locally. Highs on Tuesday will again be in the mid-80s. No severe weather issues are expected Tuesday.

RAIN & STORMS LIKELY AT TIMES WEDNESDAY… Chances are high that Wednesday will be the wettest day this week. Rain and thunderstorms will be possible throughout the day. Right now, parameters do not support a widespread, significant severe weather event, but I would not be surprised to see a low-end severe weather risk introduced for Wednesday, particularly for areas near the coast that may have more surface-based instability around compared to areas farther inland. This is something we will be monitoring over the next few days. Most areas will simply have rain at times on Wednesday.

MORE INTERMITTENT RAIN AHEAD LATER THIS WEEK… Thursday and Friday look unsettled – not “severe weather unsettled,” but rather unsettled with a chance of showers each day. Temperatures will be a bit cooler compared to the first half of the week with highs on Thursday and Friday likely to be in the 70s.

NO SIGNS OF ORGANIZED SEVERE WEATHER THIS WEEK… Other than a small chance of a few stronger storms near the coast on Wednesday, the next 7 days look quiet in terms of the severe weather potential. We’ll keep watching the setup on Wednesday and let you know if there are any changes to pass along.
