A “BLACKBERRY WINTER” INDEED… Get ready for a late season cool snap. Overnight lows on Wednesday night into Thursday night are projected to be near 40 degrees in many spots locally. Upper-30s are not out of the question for inland stretches of south Alabama, particularly in areas north of U.S. Highway 84. Quiet, cool weather is ahead for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with only a few passing clouds at times on Tuesday. Sunshine is the word for Wednesday and Thursday.

NEXT ROUND OF ACTIVE WEATHER SATURDAY… While it is way too early for any specifics, there is a chance of a few strong to marginally severe thunderstorms developing locally on Saturday. Showers may begin as early as late Friday evening. Rain coverage peaks on Saturday before tapering off late Saturday evening. Flash flooding issues will be possible as rain amounts of 1-3” in total will be likely. That does not sound like much rain at face value, but the problem is local soil (especially near the Alabama and northwest Florida coast) remains highly saturated. This is a situation we will be monitoring over the next few days. We’ll bring you the latest in the RedZone Weather app.

My next forecast video will be posted by 7:15AM tomorrow morning. Have a great evening!
