SECOND ROUND OF SEVERE WEATHER EXPECTED LATER TODAY… Despite a widespread damaging wind event across the region this morning, another round (Round 2 of 2) of strong to severe storms is ahead later this morning into the afternoon hours. Tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail, and flash flooding will be possible. There is a chance that hail could be particularly intense in some of the storms, perhaps up to golfball or tennis ball size. In addition, tornadoes and damaging winds capable of knocking down more trees will be possible. Please have a way to get urgent weather warnings later today. I will be able to give our entire region an all clear hopefully by the evening hours. Don’t let your guard down just because we have had a significant, widespread damaging wind event this morning! More storms are possibly on the way. As always, if and when we have tornado warnings for our local area, we will come on Facebook Live to bring you the very latest information.

NUMEROUS TREES DOWN ACROSS REGION… The morning round of thunderstorms was particularly impactful for many locales across our region. Numerous reports of trees down have come in from many communities across the region. Please check on travel conditions along your route this morning if you’re traveling as many roads are blocked, especially across parts of Escambia (AL) and Covington counties.

SET UP APP ALERTS… We send quite a bit of Low-Level Alerts in our RedZone Weather app. The app is totally free for you! redzoneweather.com/app is the link where you see the download links to your respective app store for iOS and for Android devices. Once you have the app downloaded to your smartphone or tablet device, be sure to visit the Alerts tab to customize the alerts you would like to receive straight from me.

I’ll have more updates over the next several hours in the RedZone Weather app. I will have another live update later this afternoon unless tornado warning coverage is warranted before that. Have a nice Saturday morning!
