SCATTERED SHOWERS ACROSS THE REGION… Rain is happening in parts of each of our 12 local counties as of 2:12AM. These scattered showers are moving north across the region, around the large, counterclockwise circulation of Potential Tropical Cyclone #3. Heavier, more consistent rain is happening across southeast Mississippi and near the Alabama/Mississippi state line.

WHAT TO EXPECT – THROUGH 6AM… Rain will probably start in many locations in Mobile and Washington counties and not stop for quite some time. The latest projections from NWS Mobile continue to show upwards of 10″ of rainfall in total over the next 24-48 hours across coastal areas of Alabama. Several flash flood warnings are in effect for parts of southeast Mississippi where heavy rain continues to fall. Scattered showers will increase in coverage gradually in the next few hours. A few tornadoes will be possible across the region.

TORNADO WATCH UNTIL 11AM FOR COASTAL COUNTIES… A Tornado Watch is now in effect until 11AM for all parts of Baldwin, Mobile, Escambia (FL), Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa counties. A few tornadoes will be possible through late morning in these coastal counties. We note that the tornado risk may expand farther inland in the afternoon and early evening hours. Below is the map of the current tornado watch that also includes multiple southeast Mississippi counties.
