COOLER TEMPS TODAY; COLD TEMPS TONIGHT; PLEASANT SATURDAY & SUNDAY… If you’ve stepped outside this morning, you’ve felt just how much cooler this morning is compared to the last few days. High temperatures on this Friday will be in the mid-60s. Some spots, mainly across Clarke and Washington counties in west Alabama, will only have highs in the upper-50s today. Skies will continue to clear throughout the day. This weekend, temperatures will rebound into the 70s in the afternoon hours. A few more Friday morning forecast details are below.

QUITE COLD THIS EVENING FOR H.S. FOOTBALL GAMES… If you are headed out to a high school football playoff game across Alabama or northwest Florida, grab the jackets and keep ’em handy! Temperatures will be in the upper-40s by 7PM in many spots across our local area. If you’re headed farther north into the central part of Alabama, expect temperatures to be in the low- to mid-40s by the end of the games. Clear skies are expected with a 5-10 mph northwest wind being possible.

NICE, SUNNY SATURDAY… Mostly sunny skies are ahead for Saturday. Temperatures will peak around the 70 degree mark. There will be a few passing clouds at times on Saturday, mainly in the evening hours. No rain is expected on Saturday.

RAIN POSSIBLE LATE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY… Our next cold front is slated to move by our local area on Sunday night into Monday. A few showers may happen in the late evening hours of Sunday. Right now, the overall risk of severe weather with this next passing cold front seems very low.

COLD START TO EARLY NEXT WEEK… Highs are expected to drop into the low-60s by Monday and then into the 50s by Tuesday. Overnight lows will be in the 30s. Temperatures will rebound midweek, but not before a few chilly days on Monday and Tuesday.

THANKSGIVING PREVIEW: RAIN POSSIBLE… Scattered showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms will be possible on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday. High temperatures are currently forecast to be a bit above our climatological norms for Thanksgiving, meaning most spots will likely be in the 70s in the afternoon hours. Forecast confidence in 6-7 days is a bit lower than normal, thus significant forecast changes may be possible over the next few days. Please check back in for forecast updates for Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Iron Bowl Saturday.

TROPICS QUIET… No tropical storms or hurricanes are expected to form over the next several days in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, or the Atlantic Ocean.
