ALL CLEAR! SEVERE WEATHER EVENT ENDS LOCALLY; TORNADO WATCH TO OUR EAST… After a long evening and morning with a LOT of damage noted across the region, southwest Alabama and northwest Florida (in areas west of Destin, Crestview, and Opp) get a final ALL CLEAR for the night. The severe weather threat has come to an end. It should be noted that a Tornado Warning is in effect for southern Walton County near Freeport as of 3:00AM. A Tornado Watch will continue for southeast Alabama and the Florida Panhandle east of our area for the next few hours.

The Tornado Watch has been cancelled for ALL local counties. Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Escambia (FL), Covington, Butler, Conecuh, Escambia (AL), Monroe, Clarke, Washington, Mobile, and Baldwin counties are now OUT of the Tornado Watch.

NUMEROUS DAMAGE REPORTS ACROSS REGION… Damage has been widespread and particularly intense across parts of our local area tonight. There are too many reports to list specifically here, but I can tell you that I am aware of notable damage that has happened in parts of Mobile, Baldwin, Santa Rosa, Washington, Choctaw, and Marengo counties. The first light of day will likely reveal more damage across the region, especially in more rural areas where tree damage has yet to be found. Structural damage has happened in some of the mentioned counties above. Unfortunately, the Level 4 (out of 5) severe weather risk verified. Thankfully, the risk is now over and we can begin the process of cleaning up damage. Also, even more thankful for the fact that I have heard of no injuries or fatalities in our local area due to storms moving through. THANK YOU for heeding the warnings! I have received so many images of folks wearing tornado helmets and doing the right things. This is GREAT and it really makes me proud and thankful to see so many people heeding our messaging. Thank you!
