TEMPS IN 60s FOR TRICK-OR-TREATING TONIGHT; DRY FORECAST THIS WEEK… Partly cloudy skies are likely on this Halloween Monday across south Alabama and northwest Florida. High temperatures will be in the upper-70s today. A few passing rain showers are not completely out of the question today, particularly in areas along and north of U.S. Highway 84. Rain chances are quite low, but not completely zero farther inland as an area of low pressure passing to our north potentially causes a few showers across Alabama today. The next several days are expected to be dry with high temperatures in the 80s. A few more Monday morning forecast notes are below.
HALLOWEEN TRICK-OR-TREATING FORECAST… Temperatures will decline from the upper-70s around 3PM to the mid-60s by 7PM this evening. Dry conditions are expected for the evening hours closer to the coast and in most communities inland. A few passing sprinkles and showers may be possible in parts of Washington, Clarke, Monroe, Conecuh, and Butler counties this evening, but rain amounts will be light and I don’t expect any of the showers to last long at all for any one spot.
MAINLY SUNNY & DRY OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS… Other than a few passing clouds on Tuesday into Wednesday, the rest of the week ahead looks quite nice, quite sunny, and pleasant for early November. High temperatures will be around the 80 degree mark with morning lows in the 50s.
PTC15/LISA-TO-BE MOVING WEST IN CARIBBEAN SEA… Potential Tropical Cyclone 15 formed yesterday south of Haiti in the Caribbean Sea. This system is expected to become a tropical storm over the next few days as a general westward movement continues. Once the system officially becomes a tropical storm, it will take the name “Lisa.” PTC15/Lisa will move toward Central America over the next few days. Landfall is likely later this week in Mexico, Belize or Honduras when the system is expected to be a hurricane. Interests in Central America should closely monitor the progress of this developing system. PTC15/Lisa will not directly affect Alabama or northwest Florida.
The remainder of the tropical Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico remain quiet. Hurricane season officially ends on November 30.
