BLIZZARD-LIKE CONDITIONS POSSIBLE… I had to do a double take when I read the latest mesoscale discussion from the Storm Prediction Center indicating the potential for “localized blizzard conditions” being possible throughout the day. A blizzard not only involves heavy snow, but strong wind. Areas near the bays have the greatest chance of blizzard-like conditions.

If you’re in northwest Florida or southern Covington County where the heavier snow has not started yet, don’t fret. It’s on the way!

This will be a historic, generational snow day across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Get outside and enjoy it! Please stay off the roads!!!

The map above is the latest snow totals projection from moments ago from the National Weather Service office in Mobile. Big swath of the area now expecting 4-6” of snow including all areas near the coast.

Temperatures will remain below freezing everywhere across the region all day.
