TEMPS ABOVE FREEZING FOR MOST THIS AFTERNOON; FRIGID TEMPS AGAIN OVERNIGHT… Icy roads this morning will continue to be hazardous for, at least, the next few hours. If you absolutely must drive this morning, please take it very slow and constantly monitor for black ice on local roadways. Temperatures will rise above the freezing mark in most locations across south Alabama and northwest Florida late this morning ahead of rising to around 40° this afternoon. Places that still have snow on the ground will be several degrees colder throughout the day than communities with less snow. More sunshine later this afternoon should also help to melt some of the existing snow and ice.

ANOTHER VERY COLD NIGHT AHEAD… Overnight lows will be in the 10s in many spots across south Alabama and northwest Florida tonight into early Friday. Just like what happened last night, any places that have snow on the ground will be a 5-8 degrees colder than surrounding areas. Even if we do have significant snow/ice melting today, I suspect localized areas of black ice will be possible tomorrow morning across much of the region.

MODERATING TEMPERATURES THIS WEEKEND… High temperatures will rise into the 50s this weekend with 60s likely on Monday. Dry conditions are expected on Saturday and Sunday ahead of scattered showers becoming possible on Monday.
