PARTLY CLOUDY TUESDAY; NEXT SIGNIFICANT RAIN CHANCE ON FRIDAY… Skies will remain partly cloudy today and over the next few days ahead of our next weather system slate to move through south Alabama and northwest Florida on Friday. High temperatures today will be in the low to mid 60s. The next few days will feature highs in the 70s with no signs at all of any Arctic air headed our way anytime soon. While cold temperatures are a certainly at times over the next few weeks, conditions through the first few days of February will likely feature temperatures above our climatological norms for this time of year.
RAIN LIKELY AT TIMES ON FRIDAY… Scattered showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms will become possible on Friday, perhaps extending into the pre-dawn hours of Saturday. This rain is in direct response to a frontal boundary pushing into our region from the west. Severe weather parameters continue to be LOW with this system as it looks like surface-based instability may be quite limited. This is good news. Odds are increasing this will simply be a beneficial rain event with perhaps a few general (non-severe) thunderstorms involved.
