Basements are great, but most homes in our local area don’t have basements. You don’t have to be underground to survive a tornado! If a tornado warning is issued for your area, get to the lowest floor of a site-built structure, away from windows and doors, putting as many walls as you can between you and the outside world. WEAR A TORNADO WARNING HELMET! This is something hard and sturdy that will protect your head. Most tornado injuries are head injuries. Protect your head during tornado warnings!
