A FEW SHOWERS TODAY; GORGEOUS WEATHER THIS WEEKEND… Isolated showers will be possible across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Thursday. We have a weak cold front slated t across our region from northwest to southeast today. While this cold front will NOT usher in colder air, it will provide enough of a spark to cause a few widely scattered showers. MOST communities across the region will remain completely dry today with mostly cloudy skies, but a few of us across the region may have some brief rain showers, mainly between 10AM and 5PM. No severe weather issues are expected today across the region and the overall coverage of thunderstorms will likely be limited.
GORGEOUS WEATHER FOR FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY… The weekend looks absolutely fantastic with plenty of sunshine expected on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. High temperatures will be in the 70s each day with morning lows in the 40s.
SEVERE WEATHER RISK TO OUR WEST ON TUESDAY… The Storm Prediction Center has added an uncommon severe weather risk 5-6 days out valid for Tuesday, March 4 for areas to our northwest in parts of Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Parts of these states may have severe thunderstorms capable of producing all severe weather hazards, including tornadoes. This same system will move through our area on Wednesday of the upcoming week.
STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE LOCALLY WEDNESDAY… Rain and thunderstorms will become likely on Wednesday. There is ample uncertainty as to if thunderstorms will be strong or severe across south Alabama and northwest Florida. Right now, this looks like a setup where a line of storms will cross the area from west to east. Questions will linger into the weekend and early next week as to exactly how significant our severe weather setup may be. I will have updates posted in the days ahead in the RedZone Weather app.
