COOL, NICE THURSDAY; RAIN LIKELY AT TIMES SATURDAY… High temperatures will be in the upper 50s inland with low 60s closer to the coast on this Thursday. Mostly sunny skies are expected throughout the day. We have another chilly night ahead with overnight lows slated to be in the upper 30s by daybreak Friday in many communities. Friday is slated to be a dry day with a few showers becoming possible late Friday night ahead of our next rain event on Saturday.

RAIN & STORMS LIKELY AT TIMES ON SATURDAY… Rain and thunderstorms are likely at times on Saturday across much of the Deep South as an area of low pressure develops to our west and gradually moves east. Showers will be possible as early as the morning hours on Saturday but it looks like the greatest coverage of rain and thunderstorms will happen in the afternoon and evening hours. At least some risk of a few strong to severe storms will probably exist Saturday evening across the region. Damaging wind gusts and hail may be the hazards of note. It remains to be seen if tornadoes will be a realistic possibility. High temperatures on Saturday will be in the mid 70s.

FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE SUNDAY… Lingering showers will be possible on Sunday ahead of drier conditions next week. Most of the showers on Sunday will probably happen in the morning hours with drier conditions prevailing by the evening hours. Highs on Sunday will again be in the low to mid 70s.

SUNNY, NICE START TO NEXT WEEK… Sunshine is in the forecast for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the upcoming week. Temperatures will be on the upswing next week. We start in the low 70s on Monday, with mid 70s likely on Tuesday. Afternoon highs will likely be flirting with the 80 degrees by the time we get to Thursday and Friday of the upcoming week.
