DRY FRIDAY AHEAD OF RAIN & STORMS ON SATURDAY… Cloud coverage will increase throughout the day on this Friday with high temperatures projected to be in the low 70s. Showers will become possible tonight across south Alabama and northwest Florida, mainly after midnight. Rain will be possible throughout the day on Saturday, but we are not expecting an all day rain event. There is a low-end, Level 1 (out of 5) severe weather risk in place for part of our area on Saturday, but the vast majority of the storms should remain well under severe limits. High temperatures on Saturday will be in the mid 70s.
RAIN & STORMS LIKELY AT TIMES SATURDAY… Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible throughout the day on Saturday with at least some chance of a few stronger storms. The overall probability for ANY severe storms is quite low, but not entirely zero. Gusty winds and hail are the two main concerns in any storms that can briefly ramp up to strong or marginally severe levels. The overall tornado risk remains quite low. We note it won’t be raining all day on Saturday, but there inevitably will be scattered showers and thunderstorms around at times.
LINGERING SHOWERS POSSIBLE SUNDAY… The bulk of the rain locally is expected to happen on Saturday into Saturday night. A few, spotty showers will be possible on Sunday during the daytime hours. Highs on Sunday will be in the upper 60s.
WARMING TEMPERATURES NEXT WEEK… Monday will feature highs in the 60s with low 70s likely on Tuesday. The middle part of the week will have warmer temperatures with highs in the upper 70s. Sunshine is likely on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of showers becoming possible again on Thursday.
