NICE THURSDAY; A FEW STORMS POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT – MOST TO REMAIN DRY… Mostly sunny skies today will transition to partly cloudy skies tonight ahead of a few, widely scattered thunderstorms being possible locally overnight into the pre-dawn hours of Friday. I expect MOST of the communities across south Alabama and northwest Florida to remain dry tonight but a few, widely spaced showers and storms will be possible. High temperatures today will be in the upper 70s and near the 80 degree mark.

LEVEL 2 (OUT OF 5) SEVERE WEATHER RISK TO OUR NORTH TODAY INTO TONIGHT… The Storm Prediction Center includes much of north Alabama, north Mississippi, and western Tennessee in their Level 2 (out of 5) severe weather risk valid for today into tonight. Gusty winds and large hail are the two primary concerns in the stronger thunderstorms that happen. The overall tornado risk across Alabama is quite low, but not entirely zero, particularly across the northern part of the state in the Tennessee Valley region. Most of the storms that happen across north and central Alabama will be in the afternoon and evening hours.

A FEW STORMS POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT INTO FRIDAY MORNING LOCALLY… There is no formal risk of severe storms in place across south Alabama or northwest Florida but there may be a few showers and thunderstorms overnight into Friday morning. Most communities across our local area will remain dry. Storms will be possible locally from 10PM to 5AM. Again, the overall severe weather risk locally remains quite low.

FANTASTIC WEATHER THIS WEEKEND… Full sunshine is expected on Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s each day. This will be the nicest weather weekend we have had in quite some time. Nice weather is expected to continue into next week.
