SPOTTY STORMS TODAY ACROSS WEST ALABAMA; SCATTERED STORMS TUESDAY… Isolated thunderstorms will likely pop up this afternoon into this evening across parts of west Alabama. MOST of us across south Alabama and northwest Florida will remain dry on this Monday with high temperatures peaking in the mid 80s. Generally speaking, the closer you are to Mississippi, the higher your specific rain chance will be today. Rain chances will increase slightly across the entire region on Tuesday ahead of lower (not zero!) rain chances for the remainder of the week. High temperatures will be quite warm later this week, nearing the 90 degree mark by the time we get to Friday and Saturday.

HIGHER RAIN CHANCES TODAY WEST OF THE ALABAMA RIVER… Clarke, Washington, Mobile, Choctaw, Marengo, and Wilcox counties have the highest chance of rain in southwest Alabama today. That isn’t to say a few showers and storms won’t happen further to the east, but generally speaking, rain chances will be highest today to the west. Fortunately, we are not expecting widespread severe storms today. Any storms that pop up will be capable of producing loud and proud thunder, cloud-to-ground lightning, and localized downpours of rain. Showers and storms will be most numerous today from Noon to 7PM.

SCATTERED STORMS AT TIMES ON TUESDAY… Tomorrow will feature slightly higher chances of rain and storms across the entire region, but storms will continue to be scattered in nature. This means not every community will have rain before the end of the day. High temperatures on Tuesday will again be in the mid 80s.

VERY LOW-END RAIN CHANCES WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, AND FRIDAY… Rain chances won’t ever get down to zero during the daytime hours later this week but any storms that pop up on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be few and far between with MOST communities across the region remaining dry. Warm conditions are expected later this week with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

HIGH TEMPERATURES NEAR 90° THIS WEEKEND… This will likely be the warmest weekend our local area has had so far this year with high temperatures projected to be in the upper 80s. Some communities may hit the 90 degree mark on Saturday and/or on Sunday.
