SPOTTY STORMS TODAY; SLIGHTLY INCREASED RAIN CHANCES FRIDAY AND SATURDAY… Today will be quite similar to the last few days with a chance of spotty showers and thunderstorms this afternoon into this evening. Not every community will have rain before the end of the day. Widespread severe thunderstorms are not expected locally today. There is a severe weather risk for areas to our northwest today across parts of northwest Alabama, north Mississippi, and Louisiana. The main concern in those areas will be gusty winds in the strongest of the storms.

SCATTERED STORMS AT TIMES FRIDAY AND SATURDAY… A cold front will approach our local area from the northwest this weekend, leading to a slightly increased chance of showers and storms on both Saturday and Sunday. It won’t rain all day on Friday or on Saturday, but there will be spotty showers and thunderstorms around. High temperatures will again be in the mid 80s.

COOLER, DRIER AIR FOR EARLY NEXT WEEK… Temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s for afternoon highs on Sunday and Monday. Slightly drier air will be in place after the passage of the advancing cold front this weekend.
