WIDESPREAD RAIN AND STORMS LATER TODAY; WET AT TIMES THIS WEEKEND… Rain chances are set to rise across south Alabama and northwest Florida later today as another disturbance moves across our region. Heavy rain and thunderstorms will be possible. There is a low-end risk of a few strong to marginally severe storms capable of producing hail and gusty winds, specifically on the eastern side of our region, extending eastward into southeast Alabama and the Florida Panhandle region. The overall tornado risk today and through the weekend remains very, very low. We will have rain and thunder at times throughout the weekend and into early next week. Drier conditions are set to return as we get into the latter part of the upcoming week.

UNSETTLED PATTERN THIS WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK… If you have outdoor plans this weekend, make sure you have an indoor backup ready to go as we will have scattered showers and thunderstorms at times on both Saturday and Sunday. Widespread severe storms are not expected but cloud-to-ground lightning will be possible. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s tomorrow with temperatures near 80 degrees expected on Sunday afternoon.

DRIER AND HOTTER CONDITIONS LATE NEXT WEEK… We will likely have a pattern flip of sorts next week with hotter, drier days coming up. High temperatures will be around the 90 degree mark by Thursday of the upcoming week with morning lows in the mid-60s. The drier pattern may not last long but the chance of spotty showers and storms will likely go down considerably.
