A FEW TORNADOES POSSIBLE TODAY, TONIGHT, INTO SUNDAY… This is a challenging forecast over the next 24-36 hours as we all have a LOW-END severe weather risk in place. A few tornadoes will be possible in any storms that can become severe. What makes the messaging quite challenging is MOST of us across the region will be just fine with occasional, spotty showers and storms. Where storms do become severe, however, tornadoes are the concern.

MOST communities across southwest Alabama and northwest Florida will simply have spotty storms at times. The projected radar off the HRRR model shows the potential for severe storms inland over the next several hours followed by a risk of strong to severe storms later this evening into tonight for areas on the eastern side of our region (Covington, Okaloosa counties and points east).

Bottom line: Have a way to hear warnings today, tonight, and into Sunday!
