NICE WEATHER THRU SATURDAY; SCATTERED STORMS MEMORIAL DAY MONDAY… Sunny skies return across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Thursday. High temperatures will be around the 90 degree mark today. Any lingering clouds will clear out by this afternoon, giving way to a beautiful, sunny evening. We have a nice weekend ahead as well, although a few P.M. storms may happen on Sunday. Rain chances rise as we get into Memorial Day Monday and extending into Tuesday and Wednesday of the upcoming weekend.
SUNNY, NICE WEEKEND… We’ll see a return to higher humidity values on Saturday into Sunday with high temperatures set to be in the low 90s this weekend. This is pretty much climatologically normal for a Memorial Day weekend. Overnight lows will be in the low 60s tonight with lows likely closer to 70° by the time we get to Saturday night into Sunday.
INCREASING RAIN CHANCES EARLY NEXT WEEK… Scattered showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage early next week, starting on Memorial Day Monday. Most of the showers and thunderstorms are expected to bubble up in the P.M. hours. Widespread severe storms do not look particularly likely at this point as these will more likely be pulse-type thunderstorms. If you have outdoor plans slated for Monday, make sure to have an indoor backup plan ready as thunderstorms may develop quickly. Rain chances will remain fairly elevated on Tuesday and Wednesday of the upcoming week.
TROPICS QUIET… The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season will kick off on Sunday, June 1. No signs of any preseason storms in the Gulf, the Caribbean, or the Atlantic at this point.
