STRONG STORMS IN BUTLER COUNTY… Loud thunderstorms are producing quite a bit of cloud-to-ground lightning (and very loud thunder, in some cases) across much of Butler County, AL this evening. These storms, currently near Greenville, Forest Home, Georgiana, McKenzie, Chapman, Starlington, and Oaky Streak, are moving northeast toward Luverne, Daisy, Highland Home, Grady, and Ft. Deposit. Gusty winds and hail will be possible over the next several minutes.

LINE OF STORMS WEAKENING WHILE MOVING SOUTHEAST… The main line of storms we are watching this evening is draped from Vredenburgh near the Monroe/Wilcox County line down to near Wilmer in Mobile County. Heavy rain is happening near Citronelle, McIntosh, Jackson, Gosport, Whatley, Claiborne, Chance, and Franklin. Storms will continue to move southeast toward Monroeville, Beatrice, Tunnel Springs, Uriah, Chrysler, Tensaw, Mt. Vernon, Chunchula, and Lott over the next 20 minutes or so.

ALL CLEAR FOR CHOCTAW & MARENGO COUNTIES… Choctaw and Marengo counties in west Alabama have been cleared out of the Severe Thunderstorm Watch. Counties further south and east continue to be involved in the Watch until 10PM, but as the main line of storms moves through your specific county, you’ll get an all clear. Don’t forget: We have a separate severe weather risk coming up tomorrow (Tuesday, May 27, 2025) due to damaging wind gusts. That threat will maximize from 11AM to 4PM, most likely.
