A FEW SPOTTY STORMS TODAY; RAIN & STORMS LIKELY OVERNIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING… Our active weather pattern continues across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Wednesday with spotty storms being possible at times throughout the day. It certainly will not rain all day but we may have a few, highly isolated storms around during the daytime hours. Thunderstorms that happen overnight will probably be a bit more organized with the potential for gusty winds and hail. The overall tornado risk today into tonight and Thursday remains quite low, but not entirely zero. We encourage everyone, even on these lower-end severe weather risk days, to have a way to hear urgent weather warnings. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s.

LOW-END, LEVEL 1 (OUT OF 5) SEVERE WEATHER RISK TODAY, TONIGHT, AND TOMORROW… We have had multiple days with at least a low-end severe weather risk. Today, tonight, and tomorrow will feature the same conditions with a chance of severe thunderstorms at times. Gusty winds will continue to be the main hazard concern.

UNSETTLED PATTERN CONTINUES THURSDAY AND FRIDAY… More rounds of rain and storms are expected on Thursday and Friday as our unsettled pattern continues. Rain is not expected to last all day either day but we will have scattered showers and thunderstorms around, most likely. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s on Thursday and Friday.

SLIGHTLY COOLER LATER THIS WEEK… High temperatures will be in the mid 80s on Friday into Saturday with overnight lows in the low to mid 60s. The weekend looks to be drier, overall, but we likely will continue to have a few widely scattered P.M. storms each day.

TROPICS QUIET; HURRICANE SEASON KICKS OFF JUNE 1… Some of the longer range models are hinting at the idea of some potential tropical mischief in the western Caribbean or far southern Gulf in the Bay of Campeche as we get into the 10-14 day range, but quite frankly, ideas are all over the board at this point. Nothing to worry about, for now. The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season will kick off on Sunday, June 1.
