HOT TEMPS TODAY; RAIN & STORMS POSSIBLE MIDWEEK… Our hot, mostly dry pattern is set to continue across south Alabama and northwest Florida on this Monday. Multiple rounds of thunderstorms happened over the weekend in areas to our north and west and more of the same is expected today and tomorrow. The good news is widespread severe weather is NOT in the forecast for our local area in south Alabama or northwest Florida anytime soon. Rain and thunderstorms will be possible at times on Wednesday locally, but the overall risk of severe storms will likely remain fairly low.
HOT & MAINLY DRY TODAY AND TOMORROW… Temperatures will peak in the low to mid 90s this afternoon with ample humidity. Overnight lows will be in the low 70s tomorrow morning. Highs will again be in the 90s on Tuesday. Other than a rogue shower or two, most of us will be hot and dry across the region today.
SCATTERED STORMS ON WEDNESDAY… Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible on Wednesday into Wednesday evening as a cold front approaches from the northwest. Not every local community will have rain on Wednesday, but some will. Widespread severe weather is not expected but loud storms may be possible at times.
SLIGHTLY COOLER, DRIER END TO THE WEEK… High temperatures are expected to drop back into the low 80s on Thursday and Friday with overnight lows in the 60s across much of the region by Thursday night into early Friday morning. This will be a rather brief cool snap that won’t last long. Highs will rebound into the 90s next week.
TROPICS QUIET… The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season will kick off on Sunday, June 1. No signs of any preseason storms in the Gulf, the Caribbean, or the Atlantic at this point.
