MORE POP-UP STORMS TODAY AND INTO THE WEEKEND… Thunderstorms are expected to pop up across south Alabama and northwest Florida as we get into the afternoon and evening hours on this Thursday. These storms will be the pulse variety of thunderstorms, driven largely by the northward advancing seabreeze from the Gulf. This means that you may pick up half an inch of rainfall at your locationHigh temperatures will be around the 90 degree mark.
TROPICS: CAROLINA COAST DISTURBANCE FADES AWAY… The National Hurricane Center indicates that the area of low pressure drifting north off the east coast of Florida and Georgia is expected to move inland in the vicinity of South Carolina, thus preventing further development into a tropical storm. Development odds have fallen to near 0%.
TROPICS: GULF & CARIBBEAN QUIET THROUGH THE WEEKEND… The Gulf and Caribbean will continue to be quiet with no new tropical storms expected to form over the next 5-7 days. We typically look in the western Caribbean Sea and Gulf for early season activity in the month of June. For now, all is quiet. Good news!
