MORE SPOTTY STORMS TODAY; SUMMERTIME POP-UP STORM PATTERN TO CONTINUE… Scattered thunderstorms will continue to be possible throughout the day on this Tuesday as our fairly unsettled weather pattern continues. Not every community will have rain and thunderstorms before the end of the day but where storms do develop, you can expect localized downpours, cloud-to-ground lightning, and loud thunder. Rain will not last for very long in any given community. Widespread severe weather is not expected locally today. The Storm Prediction Center does not have any formal severe weather risk in place for any part of south Alabama or northwest Florida today.

P.M. STORMS IN THE DAYS AHEAD… Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to be possible over the next 5-7 days. Rain coverage may increase as we get into the weekend but in all upcoming days, there will be some sunshine in the mix as well. The majority of the thunderstorms that develop each day in the days ahead will happen in the afternoon and evening hours.

TROPICS: GULF & CARIBBEAN QUIET, FOR NOW… The Gulf and Caribbean Sea are quiet with no new tropical storms expected to develop over the next 5-7 days. There were some outlier model runs that suggested that some tropical mischief could develop in 9-12 days from now, but the model data has backed off considerably on that idea. Good news!
