Severe thunderstorms are knocking down trees in parts of the Birmingham metro this evening. Numerous storms continue to happen across the central part of AL. Thunderstorms are expected to move into our area from the north later this evening and drop south overnight. A few severe storms with a damaging wind threat is expected.
