WARM MONDAY; FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE… We kick off the work week with a few showers and thunderstorms and ample heat this afternoon. High temperatures will remain well above our climatological norms for this time of year, peaking in the upper-80s in most spots. Cooler air is on the way, however, as a cold front prepares to move by on Wednesday. We continue to monitor two minor features in the tropics that will likely not develop. Let’s talk details…
WARM START, COOLER END TO WEEK… Two cold fronts will move from northwest to southeast across our area in the next 5-7 days. While today will be warm, a week from today could be quite cool with a high temperature only in the upper-60s! Further forecast refinements may cause that number to be upped in the days ahead, but as of now there are strong model signals that support a cool start to next week!
TROPICAL UPDATE… We continue to watch two areas of disturbed weather, one in the Caribbean Sea and one in the tropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Both systems have a low-end (20%) chance of becoming a tropical storm over the next few days. Both systems are also expected to never reach the Gulf of Mexico. Good news!
Enjoy your Monday!
