HEAVY AREAS OF RAIN… Showers and thunderstorms continue to develop and stream northward across the area. So far, most of the rain and storm action has been confined to inland areas. Coastal areas remain dry.
Showers and storms will continue to develop over the next few hours. If any of the storms ramp up to severe levels, I’ll let you know.
STORM NEAR MCINTOSH… I’m closely monitoring an area of low-level rotation in the storm currently near McIntosh in Washington County. We’ll be watching lightning output over the next few minutes near this mesocyclone to see if it ramps up.

FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR WEST ALABAMA… NWS Mobile has expanded the Flash Flood Warning to now include much of Clarke, Washington, all of Choctaw, northern Monroe and western Wilcox counties in west Alabama.
Very heavy rain continues to fall in these areas. We encourage everyone to be off the roads in these areas: Grove Hill, Fulton, Thomasville, Jackson, Toddtown, Coffeeville, Chatom, Silver Cross, Pine Hill, Coy, Silas, Toxey, and Gilbertown.
