SHOWERS & STORMS TODAY; COLD FRONT MOVING BY… Intermittent showers and thunderstorms are expected on this Thursday as a cold front moves by from northwest to southeast. Grab the rain gear and keep it handy throughout the day and into this evening! The good news is I’m not expecting any severe weather issues today. The bad news is today will be gloomy and wet for most across the region pretty much all day. High temperatures near 64-65° will happen earlier in the day (11AM – 1PM) as cooler air will begin filtering in this evening. Christmas looks dry and relatively mild. Let’s talk details…
BREEZY CONDITIONS ON FRIDAY… Blustery conditions are expected on Friday with a strong northwest wind (15-25 mph at times) as cold air moves in. Showers will linger through the morning hours, especially on the eastern side of our local area. This means that places like Destin, Andalusia, Opp, Florala, Crestview, and Greenville have a slightly higher rain chance on Friday morning compared to communities farther to the west like Mobile, Thomasville, Chatom, and Jackson. Rain will move out early Friday afternoon, paving the way for a nice, cool weekend.
NICE WEEKEND UPCOMING… High pressure will build in from the west on Saturday, meaning you can expect sunshine with high temperatures around 60°. Overnight lows on Saturday morning will be around 32°. More sunshine is expected on Sunday with high temps in the mid-60s.
CHRISTMAS EVE & CHRISTMAS DAY… Unlike some of the Christmases of years past when severe weather concerns happened, it looks like we catch a break this year with nice, seasonal weather in store for south Alabama & NW Florida. High temperatures on Monday into Christmas Day Tuesday will be in the 60s with morning lows in the 40s. Rain could happen Wednesday into Thursday of next week.
