DIURNAL-DRIVEN SHOWERS & STORMS… The ample daytime heating in place across south Alabama and northwest Florida continues to provide fuel for the showers and thunderstorms that we have in place across the region. Most spots are dry, but where it is raining, it is absolutely pouring! The heaviest rain is currently near Perdue Hill, Tensaw, Stockton, and Rabun. These storms are slowly drifting northward. Showers should weaken after sunset when we begin to lose daytime heating.
ISOLATED STRONG STORMS TO THE WEST… A few strong to severe storms are happening across southern Mississippi and northern stretches of east Louisiana. At the moment, a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for McComb, MS and surrounding areas. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a mesoscale discussion indicating that a few more strong storms (with the primary risk being damaging wind gusts) may happen over the next few hours in those areas.
Rain is happening across northern Baldwin County near Tensaw and Stockton… Heavy rain is also happening near Jackson, Gainestown, Toxey, Thomasville, and Springfield. pic.twitter.com/a6FfUx85Xk

Curious to know if there are more municipalities participating in this tax-free weekend in the northern half of Alabama… Quick check of list shows SEVERAL south Alabama cities opting out or not responding. @cityofbrewton opted out. No response from Andalusia or Atmore. Hmmmm… https://t.co/N0CWYnsMYP
