SEVERE STORMS IN WEST ALABAMA… A line of severe thunderstorms has prompted severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of Sumter, Greene, Pickens, Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Franklin, Lawrence, and Colbert counties in west Alabama early on this Thursday.

Damaging wind gusts will be possible in those counties as severe storms move by.

This line of storms will approach Tuscaloosa in the next 30-45 minutes.

STORMS LIKELY TO REMAIN TO OUR NORTH… The batch of storms in central and northern parts of Mississippi that are slated to move into northwest Alabama over the next hour or two will remain to the north of our local area. There is only a small chance of rain and storms overnight for parts of Washington, Clarke, Monroe, Conecuh, and Butler counties.

The radar display across south Alabama and northwest Florida remains quiet. No severe weather is expected locally through dawn.
