MOSTLY SUNNY TODAY; LOW RAIN CHANCES TILL SATURDAY… Sunshine has finally returned! Other than a low chance of rain tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, the next several days are slated to be dry, sunny, and rather cool for late April. High temperatures on this Monday will be in the mid-70s across the region with plenty of sunshine expected throughout the day. Scattered clouds will move in from the west tonight ahead of a few showers becoming possible on Tuesday. Full sunshine and dry conditions are ahead for Wednesday and Thursday ahead of a few showers again becoming possible late Friday evening. The most active weather day this week will likely be Saturday when scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to return. I’ve got all of your Monday morning forecast details below.
QUITE PLEASANT TODAY… It certainly will be nice to have a day with full sunshine! High temperatures will be in the 73-76 degree range this afternoon across south Alabama and northwest Florida. We will begin to see clouds move in tonight ahead of a few showers becoming possible on Tuesday. Overnight lows on Tuesday morning will be in the low-50s.
FEW SHOWERS POSSIBLE TUESDAY MORNING… A few areas of rain may become possible tomorrow morning due to the interaction between a shortwave trough and a frontal boundary in the northern Gulf. Rain chances remain fairly low (20%) but not entirely zero. Any showers that happen tomorrow are more likely to develop closer to the coast. Rain should be to our east by the early afternoon hours of Tuesday. Clearing skies are expected Tuesday afternoon with highs in the mid-70s.
SUNNY SKIES WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY; COLD NIGHT… Full sunshine is expected on Wednesday into Thursday as cooler, drier air moves into our region. High temperatures each day will be in the low-70s. Wednesday night into Thursday morning will be quite chilly. Overnight lows on Thursday morning will be in the low-40s.
INCREASING CLOUDINESS FRIDAY… Temperatures will be on the rebound later this week ahead of a few showers becoming possible Friday night ahead of high rain chances on Saturday. Cloud coverage will increase throughout the day on Friday. Showers will become possible after sunset Friday evening.
RAIN & STORMS LIKELY SATURDAY… Our next chance of heavy rain and widespread thunderstorms will happen on Saturday as an area of low pressure approaches from the west. There are some scenarios that point to strong to severe thunderstorms being possible in our local area on Saturday, but that idea is not set in stone just yet. Other model solutions suggest rain and general thunderstorms being the likely outcome. This is something we will be monitoring over the next few days. Regardless of which specific scenario actually happens, you can expect a high chance of rain and thunderstorms on Saturday.
